New Denture Wearer
Hello, everyone. I am a new denture wearer and it has become exhausting and depressing. I am working with a great dentist who has given me temporary dentures until the healing, bone loss, etc has occurred but getting used to them is very frustrating. Does the insane increase in salivating ever go away? Is there an adhesive that won't dissolve in less than an hour because of salivating or drinking? How do you train yourself to chew on both sides? I am so confused and ready to give up wearing them altogether.

How long do you have to wait until you get the permanent denture? You shouldn’t need adhesive until 3 or so months in (so my dentist told me) and at that stage the new lining or permanent denture. The only way I can cut down on increased saliva is to keep my denture (top) in 🥴

Hey, I got my temp dentures beginning of Dec, and I am still finding chewing a real struggle, my dentist is really lovely but keeps telling me to have patience, I am trying but it’s so hard. I also sometimes want to give up! 😢
