Dentist wants me to have bone shavi g surgery on top gums for better denture fit. Anyone have this before to help me decide.

I had this done also. I think this is kinda standard now when getting dentures. It sounds way worse than it actually is. I know I was scared as heck about it but once I asked my dentist and he explained it I understood. And I do think its way better than not having it done. It smooths the bones so u don't have jagged edges poking ur gums from inside

When I asked my dentist he said they would wear down, and all have but 2, 2 years later. It's very difficult wearing my bottoms because of this. Comfort lining is helping, but it only lasts on bottoms 3 days,then it's too thin.

I wonder if they would charge me just to look, should the price have been included to when I had my teeth extracted? Or another grand in his pocket?

Mine was included in my denture package but I had it done at same time my dentist pulled teeth.

I had mine done as well, but they called it "contouring" or something less brutal sounding.
