clogged fixodent tubes

I have a problem with the tubes of fixodent, it will NOT come out of the tube--it hardens up or freezes up(its not in a cold room) No matter what I do it won't come out Unless I put it in hot water every time ,then it comes out WAY to much. What do I do about that??

Off the top of my head,I would say you should use a toothpick to clean out the excess from the end of the tube.

These posts are FOUR YEARS OLD AND THERE IS STILL A PROBLEM!!!  Every single tube I have bought has done this clogging thing when it reaches the half way point!!!  EVERY ONE OF THEM!  So it would seem it is a product defect and NO  amount of toothpick sticking will fix it!! P and G are you reading your comment pages?

I have the same problem, I have tried using a toothpick to unclog it and that doesn't work, I've tried cutting the point off and then it clogs again, why does this still happen?

Hi Kathy, sorry to hear about the difficulty you’ve had with tubes of Fixodent clogging. Mara is right, many people have success clearing the nozzle with a toothpick. Any moisture around the cap area or tip of the tube could cause the product to harden over time, making the tube difficult to squeeze. To prevent moisture from getting in, wipe the nozzle dry with a cloth or paper towel after use, and tightly close the cap. Be sure to store the tube in a dry area as well. Hopefully, this will help keep the nozzle clear! If you find that warming the tube with hot water makes the product comes out too fast, one thing you can try is squeezing the tube with the cap on (sort of rolling it in your hands) to soften the product up before attempting to dispense it. I hope this helps! :)

That doesn't work! Once it gets clogged throw it out... there's nothing you can do! Very faulty!... too bad as when it will come out, it's a great product...need to invent a reliable dispensing method... Costs too much you have to throw it out halfway thru!

The same problem I'm having, any of the new types are a waste of money and the original one no longer holds a good as it did in the beginning to. Very disappointed

I also have a problem and have been using adhesive for 2 yrs. The only one I am satisfied with is the precision tip nozzle. It is the easiest to use, but hard to find. Neither my CVS ,Walgreens or Walmart had it last week.  If I ever find it again, I will buy a  case.

Hi Carolyn! I’m sorry you haven’t been able to find a Fixodent product with the precision tip nozzle in your local stores. The products that have the precision tip nozzle include Fixodent Plus Gum Care, Fixodent Plus with Scope, and Fixodent Plus TrueFeel. If you’d like to buy online while your local stores restock, here is a link that has the products listed. http://www.dentureliving.com/fixodent-denture-products/denture-adhesives Click “Buy Now” under the product you’d like and you’ll be taken to a page that lists online retailers with the product in stock. I hope this helps!

I agree with you Julie!  I have spent hundreds of dollars on fixodent, and I have the 1/2 to 2/3 full tubes collected in my closet.  I have; cut the tube down, kept a nail plugged in while not in use, massaged tube...  Today my top denture flew across the room while I stood frustrated beyond words.  The problem:  Fixodent Scope with the precision tip works better than any others during the first week.  I cannot afford to spend $38 per month on denture cream.  I am a widow and rely on myself.

Hi, It happened to me this morning and this stuff is expensive over $4 a tube to be throwing the tube away when it clogs. I'm going back to the precision  tip because it never clogged on me. I have the one with the big tip now and it gets air bubbles in it and then it dries up and it is a mess.

Call the number on the Fixodent tube they will refund you or send coupons.  BTW try SECURE much better and they will send you samples.

I need 100+ free coupons if that is the case I have five sitting right here that I cannot use because they are over half full and will not come out. I see this post started four years ago and it still is a problem. Sincerely, Mandi
